About Me
My name is Tarik Guney and I am a web developer. I have a computer engineering degree and I mostly do programming and design. Of course my life is not just turning around computers and programming but also I am married and I love spending my time with my family.
Like most people say, I love reading. I almost spend my 5-6 hours on reading. It is one of my greatest habits. I read many kinds of books.
I quit watching TV more than 6 years ago. Sometimes I go to cinema but that’s all. I mostly watch DVD movies at home with my family.
Education
As I mentioned above, I have Computer Engineering degree (4 years). I was a well-known person amongst my professors since I was helping them doing software projects of the university, recording video tutorials for my peer and freshman students and even created a programming-related website and maintained it for a while as my final school project.
I also published couple of articles on the most-known programming websites in Turkey while I was still a student. I was pretty passionate about programming during the university years.
Experience
I have experience in Web Application Development and Web Design. I’ve been developing web application with different web frameworks for almost 7 years. I started with Html and when I first realized the power of internet and computers, I became addicted to this area and I read almost everything I could find about from programming to project management and software development methodologies. I told you that I was a pretty good reader.
My origin is Turkish and I’ve been living in United States for years and since then I am working as Web Developer in the market and have done many websites, dynamic web applications and worked with different technologies like Javascript, Asp.NET, PHP (my favorite), mySQL, MS SQL and so on.
My market experience comes from the university times. I was selling custom design web sites and also desktop applications to some of my clients and this business helped me learn how to get along with the clients and how to understand them better to offer proper products with best prices they can afford.
Generally many programmers work like robots who wait commands and execute them. I sometimes like to take risks and initiate what I think most proper for the defined problem domain. Waiting for the commands is like bureaucracy in my point of view and I like things done quickly yet flawless or fewer flaw rate.
